House of Yahweh
The Food Outreach Program at the House of Yahweh (HOY) provides boxes and bags of groceries to an average of 65 families each day. In a year that amounts to over 73,000 boxes and bags of groceries. Our groceries come from two primary sources. First from our generous Partners-in-Charity who supply us with groceries six days each week. They give what they have to give and we never know from one day to the next what our daily food collection will yield. That's where the donations provided from Food Drives augment our grocery boxes and bags. When certain types of foods are missing from the daily food collection our staff goes to our food pantry (stocked by Food Drives) to complete the filling of our daily grocery boxes and bags.
Every year in May the USPS runs a very large food drive and their donation to our food pantry really helps us fill the gaps.
Having a food drive is a great way to get your family and colleagues involved and at the same time help feed needy families. A food drive would also be an excellent program for a Girl or Boy Scout Troop to earn required charitable service hours.
All collected food must be non-perishable items.
Send us an email to start the planning for your food drive and thank you for your support.
A Message from Sister Michele Morris, Executive Director
The driving force that makes the House of Yahweh successful is LOVE.
One act of kindness done out of love is eternal.
Without love -- acts, no matter how good, are just that – acts.
Thank you for supporting HOY with your loving acts of kindness these past 34 years!
