Volunteer Your Time & Talent

House of Yahweh

The House of Yahweh has a small but dedicated full time staff, whose commitment goes beyond any average job description. Another invaluable asset to our ministry is our VOLUNTEERS.

We have a large group of committed volunteers, of all ages, who come and help us prepare and distribute food boxes and bags, as well as working in our thrift shops. Additionally volunteers work special projects and help raise monies and food to support our efforts. Without the love and commitment of our volunteers, the House of Yahweh could not provide the services we do to meet the needs of the community.

WOULD YOU GIVE A HELPING HAND?  The House of Yahweh needs:

  • Volunteers to help pack grocery boxes and bags.
  • Volunteers to work a 2 hour shift, once a month on a Saturday. You will be doing furniture pick up and deliveries and moving heavy items in the Thrift Shop.
  • Persons who know prices and would be comfortable pricing goods in our thrift shops.
  • Persons who know how to use a sewing machine. We need to make simple curtains for the trailers. We'd like to form a sewing circle as it's a good mixer.
  • Persons to work in our home delivery food program. You are needed to deliver food once a week on the same day to at least 5 shut-in families located in the same area. If you have a son or daughter who needs to perform community service they could team with you.
  • Volunteers in both of our Artesia and Lawndale Thrift Shops.

How Can I volunteer?

A Message from Sister Michele Morris, Executive Director

The driving force that makes the House of Yahweh successful is LOVE.

One act of kindness done out of love is eternal.

Without love -- acts, no matter how good, are just that – acts.

Thank you for supporting HOY with your loving acts of kindness these past 34 years!
